23rd Meeting of the Economic and Environmental Forum of the OSCE
MENBO participated in the 23rd Concluding Meeting of the Economic and Environmental Forum of the OSCE (Organisation of Security and Cooperation in Europe), which took place in Prague on 14-16 September 2015. The meeting focused on “Water governance in the OSCE area – increasing security and stability through co-operation”, and it built upon the results stemmed from the two Preparatory Meetings held in Vienna on 26th-27th January and in Belgrade on 11th-13th May.
In particular, MENBO contributed to Session III devoted to “water governance and cooperation in the OSCE region: lessons learnt from water diplomacy” and addressed the role of regional organisations for enhancing water co-operation, presenting the Water Strategy for the Western Mediterranean, adopted in 2016 in the framework of the 5+5 Dialogue.
The Economic and Environmental Forum is the main meeting within the Economic and Environmental Dimension of the OSCE. Its objectives are to identify needs and priorities, to raise awareness and to stimulate the political will of the 57 OSCE participating States in dealing with economic, environmental and security related challenges.
