The fisrt Mediterraanean Water Forum was celebrated in Marrackech on 19^th and 20^th December 2011. The sessions defended the need to discuss and raise awareness about the serene management of resources in the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean Forum was a preamble to adopt political agreements in the framework of the Mediterranean transcontinental process of the VI World Water Forum, held in Marseille (France) in March 2012.

The event was structured in a General Assembly and four thematic working groups addressing Water Demand Management, Non-Conventional Water Resources, Water Governance and Urban and Industrial Wastewater.
