20th Anniversary of MENBO!
The 20th Anniversary of the creation of MENBO was celebrated during its 12th General Assembly which took place in Valencia (Spain) on 16th and 17th October 2023, on the occasion of the 21st Euro-Inbo Conference (16-19 October 2023).
It was 20 years ago, on 10 November 2003 and precisely in the city of Valencia (Spain)!, that the Mediterranean Network of Basin Organisations (MENBO) was created with the support of our mother organisation, the International Network of Basin Organisations (INBO) and 11 other water management organisations of the Mediterranean, thus building bridges and fostering cooperation between Mediterranean countries and institutions promoting the principle of integrated Water Management at the basin level.
Today, we are extremely proud to witness that MENBO has significantly grown since then, counting now with membership coming from 20 different countries throughout the Mediterranean: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Malta, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey.
Our membership grows at a constant pace as the principle of Integrated Water Management is enshrined in the water regulations around the Mediterranean.
